벨기에 와인 문화의 역사

벨기에 와인의 역사는 약 2000년 전 로마인들이 지금의 벨기에 지역에 와인용 포도를 가져오면서 부터 시작됩니다. 이후 중세시대에는 교회와 수도원을 중심으로 벨기에 와인 문화의 절정을 이루게 됩니다.

나폴레옹, 프랑스 와인산업 보호를 위해 벨기에 내 떼루와 전부 파괴

21세기

기후변화에 따라 벨기에 와인산업이 다시금 유명세를 얻음.

오늘날

벨기에 내에 750헥타르의 떼루와가 있으며 매년 15%씩 성장 중

벨기에 와인 전체 생산량을 백분율로 따지면

50% 스파클링 와인

35% 화이트 와인

15% 레드 와인

이 차지합니다.

와인도멘 휀스호프

기슬랭 후벤 박사에 의해 2002년 문을 연 와인도멘 휀스호프의 목표는 잔류농약이 없는 유기농 와인을 합리적인 가격으로 시장에 공급하는 것 입니다.

이 목표를 이루기 위해 모든 방면에서 고민을 한 결과 새로운 품종의 포도를 개발하는 것이었습니다.

시행착오를 최소화하기 위해 최신의 과학기술을 활용합니다. 이를 위해 독일 프라이부르크(Freiburg)의 와인 연구소, 트렌티노(Trentino)에 위치한 농업 기관이자 와인 아카데미인 에드먼드 마흐 재단(Edmind Mach Foundation), 벨기에의 VCR 연구 센터 및 프로프센트럼 프루트텔트 VZW(Proefcentrum Fruitteelt VZW)와 긴밀히 협력하고 있습니다.

더불어 휀스호프 와인 포도 생산량의 절반 정도는 유기농 혹은 지속가능한 방법으로 전환하였습니다.

Start in 2002 by prof. dr. Ghislain Houben

The greatest goal of our winery is to produce a good organic quality wine without any pesticide

residue, for a fair price.

Taking into account economic, political and social aspects to make this goal come true is seen more

possible with cultivation of new resistant grape varieties.

In our experience we rely a lot on scientific foundations to optimize the trial and error path. We work close with wine research institute in Freiburg (Germany), the Edmund Mach Foundation (agrarian institution and wine academy located in Trentino), as well as VCR research center and Proefcentrum Fruitteelt VZW here in Belgium.

At that moment we converted around half of production into organic and sustainable viticulture.

Collaboration

In addition to 6 hectares of own land, we work (by long-term contracts) with 6 local farmers, who come from the agricultural sector with great experience of working with the ground, but limited knowledge of working with vine.

According to those long-term agreements all key decisions are taken by the Houbens (including choice of location of the vineyard, planting materials, trellis system), as well as all work on the vineyard during a year is implemented according strict timing and recommendations (including pruning, spraying, harvesting).

Our team

The daily vinification happens by the son of Ghislain, Jeroen Houben, who literally was grown in the vineyard and in the wine laboratory of his father, and strongly connected with the Belgian wine.

협력

6헥타르의 자사 와인 포도밭을 가지고 있지만 근교의 농업에 숙달되었지만 와인 포도 재배에는 기술이 부족하였던 6개의 지역 농가와 장기 계약을 맺고 있습니다.

장기 계약에 따라 모든 주요 결정(포도밭 위치, 재배 재료, 격자 시스템 선택 등)은 후벤 부자가 내리고, 1년 동안 포도밭에서 이루어지는 모든 작업은 엄격한 시기와 권장 사항(가지치기, 살포, 수확 등)에 따라 실행됩니다.

통상 와인제조는 기슬랭의 아들이자 와인 포도밭과 아버지의 와인 연구실에서 자라 벨기에 와인과 강한 연관이 있는 제로엔 후벤이 담당합니다.

와인 제조자인 타티아나 마튼스(Tatiana Martens) 제로엔과 함께 와인을 만들고 있습니다.
